The Mojave Desert Tortoise Conservation Bank was authorized in May 2020 by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It has been approved by these agencies to mitigate for impacts to the special status species/habitats listed below, and to California Waters of the State. The bank is made up of 4,658 acres of species/habitat credits, including within them over 700 acres of California Waters of the State. Its Service area includes, but is not limited to, San Bernardino County and large areas of Riverside County, Imperial County, Inyo County, and Mono County.

Swainson's hawk, Prairie falcon, LeConte's thrasher,
Loggerhead shrike, American badger, Cooper's hawk, Kit fox,
Short-eared owl, Desert bighorn sheep, California leaf-nosed bat,
Fringed myotis, Townsend's big-eared bat, Pallid bat,
Pocketed free-tailed bat, Western mastiff bat
Joshua tree, Silver cholla, Pencil cholla, Cottontop cactus,
Beavertail cactus, Mojave fish-hook cactus, Short-joint beavertail cactus, Desert holly, Catclaw acacia, Staghorn cholla,
Hedgehog cactus, Yaqui mamallaria, Fleshy fruited yucca,
Mojave yucca, Chuckwalla cactus, Catclaw acacia, Ocotillo, Desert unicorn plant, Teddybear cholla, Palo verde, Desert ironwood
